came from Warren, Herkimer Co., N.Y. Res. at Adams Centre, N.Y. He
d. Aug. 25, 1871.

(Note. I think it is probable he had Maltby blood. The fact
that his son, Jay Hayes Maltby, took so much interest in the
family, strengthens this belief, combined with strong resem-
blances in this family to others of Maltby blood, lead me
to this conclusion).
